All members of the Adult Day Services staff are well trained in Dementia Care, Gerontology, CPR, First Aid, and Food Handling. We make it a point to continue our education and practice to include the best in Social Care theories and methods. Nancy Heckler – Program Director
Nancy Heckler grew up in Minnesota and received her teaching degree in Health and Physical Education. She has 2 grown children, Sarah and Ben. She loves to read, take long walks and spend time with friends. Nancy has been part of the ADS staff since 2004.
Leise Tacang – Activity Assistant
Leise grew up in an A-frame house in the Santa Cruz mountains surrounded by California redwoods, and now lives in a house with Douglas firs in a nearby park. She enjoys the company of her two sons, Ben and Spencer, as well as their sense of humor. She is a long-time member of an A cappella community singing group called PDX Vox. Leise has been a part of the ADS staff for over a year, and is so happy to be with folks that love to sing!
Agnes Zueger – Activity Assistant
Agnes grew up in Vale, Oregon and has 5 brothers, 4 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. She received her bachelor’s degree in Music Education and master’s degree in Music from the University of Portland with emphasis on piano, voice and choral conducting. Currently, she is studying at PCC in the Gerontology Program. In her spare time, she sings with the Oregon Chamber Singers and enjoys cooking, knitting and crochet. She is new to ADS beginning in January 2017.
Sarah is a 3rd generation native of Portland. She also lived in Colorado where she spent her free time skiing, and Alaska where she opened a small cafe and learned to sport fish. She earned a degree in the sciences at University of Oregon and had a career in Microbiology. Sarah, her husband, and two young boys love to garden, cook, and bike together. The whole family is also a part of a local Scouting group that hikes, camps, and participates in community service activities.
Angelique has had more than a few careers, but has finally found the one that feels just right for her. Having worked as a nanny, a preschool teacher, a gardener, a floral designer, a digital illustrator, and as a CNA. She is thrilled to be able to engage in meaningful ways with the elderly population she holds very close to her heart. Over the years, she got degrees in Arts & Letters, Graphic Design and a certificate for Nursing Assistance. Angelique lives with her creative 12 year old daughter and middle school teacher husband and enjoys oil painting, being in nature, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Daniel Garcia – Web Coordinator
Daniel Garcia was born and raised in New Mexico but has lived in Portland the last seven years. He and his wife Claire are enjoying parenthood with their lively two year old, David. When he’s not busy changing diapers or chasing around the baby, he likes to produce music, travel, and take long meandering walks. Daniel has been a part of the ADS team for over four years.
