All members of the Adult Day Services staff are well trained in Dementia Care, Gerontology, CPR, First Aid, and Food Handling. We make it a point to continue our education and practice to include the best in Social Care theories and methods. Nancy Heckler – Program Director
Nancy Heckler grew up in Minnesota and received her teaching degree in Health and Physical Education. She has 2 grown children, Sarah and Ben. She loves to read, take long walks and spend time with friends. Nancy has been part of the ADS staff since 2004.
Leise Tacang – Activity Assistant
Leise grew up in an A-frame house in the Santa Cruz mountains surrounded by California redwoods, and now lives in a house with Douglas firs in a nearby park. She enjoys the company of her two sons, Ben and Spencer, as well as their sense of humor. She is a long-time member of an A cappella community singing group called PDX Vox. Leise has been a part of the ADS staff since 2014, and is so happy to be with folks that love to sing!
Karen Galloway grew up in Henderson, Nevada and received her bachelors degree in Communication Studies from UNLV. She has enjoyed a career in non-profit services for families and aging adults and is currently studying Gerontology at PCC. She has two grown children, Melanie and Marisa who both live in Portland. She loves photography, hiking, gardening, writing and teaching yoga classes.
Daniel Garcia – Web Coordinator
Daniel Garcia was born and raised in New Mexico but has lived in Portland the last eight years. He and his wife Claire are enjoying parenthood with their lively three year old, David. When he’s not busy changing diapers or chasing around the baby, he likes to produce music, travel, and take long meandering walks. Daniel has been a part of the ADS team since 2013.
